We Stopped at Perfect Days

Seven or eight weeks ago I started re-recording the songs that this project started with. I had a lot of reasons for this.

For the past couple of months we’ve been in and out of Metrosync, a studio that was originally built in the 1940’s for live radio broadcasts of big bands. The Beatles played live for northeast Ohio from what would become the studio’s tracking room.

Danielle added her voice a week or so ago, we’ve been trading germs all winter, and a time finally worked out when she wasn’t extra nasally.

We’re done with our parts, but we have some tricks up our sleeves, so the recording will go on. In a month we’ll be in Chicago with our friend Chris Bober who is an amazing guitarist, and hopefully in May my favorite drummer in the world will add to a couple of songs. I hadn’t planned on sharing anything until everything was completed, including mastering, but I changed my mind a few days ago.

We just uploaded a new song, We Stopped at Perfect Days. It isn’t the most complex song by any means, but I like it, and more than that, I love what Spacey Casey Prestwood (who has been in Rocky Votolato’s touring band, among other great groups) added with his pedal steel so much that I decided not to sit on it. The final version of the song will be quite different...but this is where it stands right now.

Baby, it's cold outside

This is ice, not beveled glass.

The big box in the back is our composter, it's great, you should get one too, if you do, adding worms helps a lot.
